How the release works
The Eloflex electric wheelchair has motors with magnetic brakes, which are part of the chair's normal function. The release levers allow the brakes to be temporarily deactivated when there is a need to move the chair manually.
Each handle belongs to its own motor. This means that the release must be made at the motors when the chair is to be able to roll freely.
When the handles are pushed forward towards the batteries, the magnetic brakes are disengaged. A caregiver can then push the wheelchair manually instead of using the electric propulsion.
Important about magnetic brakes
NOTE: If the user uses the wheelchair without assistance, the magnetic brakes must always be activated.
The wheelchair must therefore not be used by the user with the magnetic brakes disengaged. Always check that the release levers are in the correct position before the user uses the chair on their own again.
The release function is intended for situations where the wheelchair must be moved manually, and not as an alternative setting during normal electric driving.
