The electric bike: A healthy push – not just for seniors

New research from the Medical University of Hannover documents that e-cycling is far healthier than many people think. In a three-year study, the researchers followed almost 1.900 cyclists – two-thirds of whom rode e-bikes – and analyzed over 59.000 bike rides.

The results show that e-cyclists have almost the same heart rate load as regular cyclists, meaning that the heart works almost as much – despite motor assistance. At the same time, e-cyclists cycle an average of 135 minutes per week, which meets or even exceeds the WHO's recommendations for physical activity.

And there are more benefits: The study documents that daily e-cycling of 12–15 km can reduce the risk of heart attack by up to 40% and the risk of metabolic syndrome by 50%. In addition, there are health effects such as lower cholesterol levels, less risk of fatty liver and possibly also a lower risk of Alzheimer's.

Even though you burn fewer calories per minute on an electric bike, you often cycle longer distances – and this can lead to the same or higher total energy consumption.

The electric bike is therefore not just a means of transportation for seniors – but an active choice for anyone who wants to move more without necessarily sweating like a Tour de France rider. It's not cheating. It's common sense – and perhaps the most important push your body will ever get.

From child to adult

When we think of bicycles, we often think in terms of age groups: child, adult, senior. But what if one type of bicycle could accompany you – or your child – throughout your entire life? At Jørn Iversen, that is exactly what is possible. With series such as JLR series og V-series They offer special bikes in different sizes, but with the same great features. This means you get a bike that gives you security, stability and mobility – no matter where you are in life.

The JLR series – for the littlest adventurers

Jørn, Line and Rasmus are the names of the bikes in the JLR series, designed for children with different stride lengths and needs:

All three models are three-wheeled and low-geared, which provides stability and enables children with low muscle strength to ride a bike on their own. The bikes are available with a wide range of accessories and can be individually adapted to match the child's needs and provide a safe and stable riding experience.

V-series – security and freedom for adults

Viki and Vik are children's bicycles, while Viktoria and Viktor are tricycles for adults/seniors – all designed with a focus on support, stability and safety. What is unique about the V-series is that the bikes have two front wheels and one rear wheel, which provides a really good overview and more safety in traffic.

Here is a quick overview:

The V series is low entry design, so it is easy to get on and off. And it can be delivered with or without Bosch center motor, depending on the user's needs and wishes.
